Ubuntu 10.04 to Sabily Manarat 10.04

I had a little time to try converting from Ubuntu 10.04 to Sabily Manarat 10.04 and it was successfully work. So I think this experience is very important to Ubuntu user who had feel to change their Ubuntu to Sabily but unsure to do it. Converting from Ubuntu to Sabily are more easy to do compare with upgrading from Sabily Gaza to Sabily Manarat which we need to upgrade it to previous Ubuntu then convert it back to Sabily. I will discuss about upgrading later. Please note that I try this from inside my Virtualbox since I already use Sabily Manarat. Anyway it will work same as normal operating system installation.

I also hope this guide will attract Ubuntu user especially Muslim to convert their distro to Sabily and support for Islamic software development. Lets follow this guide to convert from Ubuntu 10.04 to Sabily Manarat.

Please make sure your Internet connection and speed is good. Then you can try this.

1. Open your terminal and run this command, sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sabily.team/ppa && sudo apt-get -q update

2. Then this command, sudo apt-get install sabily

3. To continue, enter ‘Y’.

4. Wait until finish. About 10 to 20 minutes on my system.

5. It finished. Exit terminal and reboot your system.

6. You got it. Sabily Manarat take place but mix with Ubuntu theme.

7. To fully customize Sabily Manarat, you should change theme to HumanME and change to Manarat wallpaper that you can find from, File System/lib/plymouth/themes/sabily

8. Then you really got Sabily Manarat 10.04.

Instalasi Zekr

Zekr adalah aplikasi open source yang di gunakan untuk pembelajaran Al-Quran dan Pembacaan Al-Quran. Untuk pemasangan zekr caranya adalah sebagai berikut:

sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree ttf-farsiweb

Cek Java

update-java-alternatives -l

jika belum ada Java

sudo apt-get install openjdk-6-jre

Tambahkan di /etc/apt/sources.list

sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

Cari terjemahan

apt-cache search zekr-quran-translation

Untuk memperoleh terjemahan berbagai bahasa, termasuk terjemahan bahasa Indonesia

sudo apt-get install zekr-quran-translation-id-indonesian

Pasang HP Modem CDMA SMART

hy reader… kali ini saya akan membahas tentang pemasangan hp modem smart c700 pada ubuntu 10.04 lts, ya hanya share saja, kalau sudah tahu ya gak papa kan cuma membaca dan mengetahui cara pemasangan hp modm smart c700.

ya sudahlah basa basinya, langsung saja. cekidot…!

Untuk menggunakan modem CDMA Smart tipe Haier C700 di Ubuntu, ikuti langkah berikut.

1. Colok usb ponsel ke komputer.
2. Aktifkan ponsel agar dikenali Ubuntu dengan perintah di Terminal (kode vendor dan product didapat dari perintah lsusb): sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0×05c6 product=0×9004 (agar aktif saat komputer dihidupkan, tulis perintah itu sebelum kata ‘exit’ dalam file /etc/rc.local)
3. Klik kanan ikon Network Manager di kanan atas desktop, pilih “Edit Connections…”.
4. Pilih “Mobile Broadband”, lalu “Add”. Akan muncul jendela dialog “New Mobile Broadband Connection”. Pastikan pada bagian “Create a connection for this mobile broadband device:” tertera “Smart Smart CDMA Technologies MSM”. Selanjutnya tekan saja “Forward” beberapa kali dengan pilihan provider “Alltel” dari Amerika Serikat.
5. Edit informasi pada Alltell dengan mengisi username dan password “smart”. Anda bisa mengubah “Connection name” dengan bebas, misal “Smart Internet”. Akhiri dengan klik “Apply” dan “Close”.
6. Kembali ke desktop, untuk memulai koneksi klik ikon Network Manager di kanan atas dan pilih “Smart Internet”.

Catatan:

• Jika koneksi terputus, restart dulu ponsel Anda sebelum dikoneksi ulang. Ini dilakukan karena Haier C700 tidak automatis memutuskan koneksi, sehingga komputer masih ‘busy’ dengan ponsel itu. Jalan satu-satunya adalah merestart ponsel.
• Untuk memulai koneksi setelah komputer dimatikan, ikuti langkah 1 dan 6.
